PlayTunes for Android

The Problem
Most Android music players at the time were either bloated with features nobody asked for or so bare-bones they were painful to use. PlayTunes was our answer to both: a music player that did exactly what you needed and looked great doing it.

Designing for Delight
Every interaction in PlayTunes was considered. Swiping between views, tapping to play, long-pressing for options — it all had to feel intuitive and satisfying. The UI drew from Material Design principles but added its own personality through color and motion.

Features That Matter
- Clean library browsing by songs, artists, albums, and playlists
- Custom playlist creation with drag-to-reorder and quick-add
- Now playing screen with album art, playback controls, and queue management
- Background playback with notification controls

The Craft
This was a passion project that let us dig deep into Android development and interaction design. Every animation, every transition, every micro-interaction was hand-tuned.

What We Learned
Building PlayTunes taught us that great UX is invisible. When users said "it just works," that was the highest compliment.
